THE HEART OF BARLEY
We made BARLEY in collaboration with five of England’s leading Single Malt Distilleries. Five distinct distillery fingerprints. Five perspectives on English whisky.
White Peak Distillery
Founded in 2016 in Ambergate, Derbyshire, White Peak was founded by Claire and Max Vaughan in a restored wire works on the edge of the Peak District. The distillery is shaped by its surroundings - industrial heritage, creative energy, and a deep connection to local community.
Their whisky leans lightly smoky and naturally fruity, with a textural depth that mirrors the rugged Derbyshire landscape. Built from the ground up as a family venture, White Peak has become a modern, flavour-focused distillery with a distinctive sense of place.

Cotswolds Distillery
Founded in 2014 by Dan Szor, the Cotswolds Distillery sits in Shipston-on-Stour, surrounded by the region’s rolling hills. It’s built a reputation for bold, fruit-forward single malts layered with honey, stone fruit, and warm spice — an elegance that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with classic Speyside.
Their commitment to local barley and traditional craft gives the whisky its vibrant, welcoming character. It’s a distillery with a clear sense of identity: bright, expressive, and unmistakably English.

The English Distillery
Founded in 2006 by the Nelstrop family, this Roudham-based distillery holds the title of England’s first registered whisky distillery in more than a century. With over 600 years of farming and milling heritage, the family draws on barley grown on their own and neighbouring farms, and water sourced from the aquifer beneath the site.
Every step... milling, distillation, maturation, and bottling happens on site, creating a whisky rooted in provenance, craft, and a deep agricultural legacy.
Copper Rivet
Established in 2016 by Bob, Stephen, and Matthew Russell, Copper Rivet operates from a restored Victorian pump house in Chatham’s Royal Dockyard. It’s a proudly family-owned, hyper-local distillery working with grain grown within 20km, distilled on bespoke, patented stills designed in-house.
Their whisky is matured predominantly in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and produced in exceptionally small volumes, no more than 350 casks a year, giving it a rare, tightly controlled character shaped by precision and place.
Adnams
Founded in 2010 by Adnams Brewery, Copper House Distillery operates from within the historic Sole Bay Brewery in Southwold, with views of the sea and lighthouse. Drawing on East Anglia’s exceptional malting barley including grain from the pioneering Holkham Estate, Adnams distils whisky using the same dual yeast strain they’ve relied on since the 1940s.
Sustainability is woven into the fabric of the distillery, reflected in their four Queen’s Awards for Sustainable Development. The result is a whisky shaped by coastal heritage, brewing tradition, and a genuine commitment to environmental leadership.
