WHY WE CHOSE THIS CASK
A distillery dreamt up by friends while in a sauna, Kyrö (Khy-rhu - phonetic pronunciation) crafts spirits that are a perfect interpretation of their Nordic landscape, and proudly only use Finnish Rye.
Post distillery tour (and yes, there's a sauna on site if you're staying), Kalle sat us down with 13 cask samples - and this 100% malted rye cask was our favourite.

OUR HALF + HEART RECOMMENDATION
With those peach tarte tatin notes this is a summer night whisky! Pair with a juicy beer and soak in those last rays of sun. We love it with a JUBEL Peach Lager to keep things peachy, or for a delicious high/low pairing, try We Can be Friends Sunburst IPA.
THE DISTILLERY IN 60 SECONDS
Kyrö Distillery Company makes bold Finnish rye whisky—born in a sauna and built around Finland’s obsession with rye. Five friends founded the distillery in Isokyrö, converting an old dairy into a home for 100% Finnish malted rye, with a process designed to keep rye’s spicy, oily character front and centre.
We decided to work with them because they’re creating a distinctly Finnish rye style - big flavour, balanced cask influence, and a genuinely modern distillery story (sauna-born, farm-turned-distillery, rye fields on the doorstep)
