TASTES LIKE
‘Holy wow’ on the nose (thanks to H from our tasting panel for that one!). First comes spiced plum jam and wild strawberries, then sesame snaps and a hint of sandalwood. On the palate, sweetness unfurls: salted caramel, fig rolls, and a nutty Brazil nut note. With a splash of water, the whisky blooms into stewed apples, dried apricots, and candied pecans, with a long, warming finish.

LABEL INSPIRATION
Being uniquely matured in a fresh New Zealand Pinot Noir cask from Westbrook Winery, we naturally wanted to showcase this on the label. Coupled with the map of New Zealand on the right hand side, it's a label that showcases flavour and provenance in one.
THIS MADE THE CUT BECAUSE
Whisky and wine are two worlds we’re obsessed with - and when they collide in the right way, the results can be spectacular. Thomson Distillery, 100% independent and New Zealand owned, sourced a fresh, wine-soaked Pinot Noir cask direct from Westbrook Winery in Waimauku, crafted by respected winemaker and judge James Rowan. Decadent, rich, and bursting with red fruits and spice, this is their answer to a sherry cask - but with a juicier, more expressive edge. And as always with our single casks, it’s truly one of a kind.

PAIRING SUGGESTIONS
Kiwi whisky....kiwi beer! It's no secret that we're big fans of Bristol's Wiper + True, and when we saw that they've JUST released a New Zealand IPA we just had to try it alongside. What a combo!
A touch of tropical fruit, some spice and the right level of hops that leave your palate wanting more, it's a great pairing to Thomson 19!
We also love it with an Amber ale (Small Beer Co Amber - we're looking at you!)
