#3 Kyrö Distillery
A distillery dreamt up by friends while in a sauna, Kyrö (Khy-rhu - phonetic pronunciation) crafts spirits that are a perfect interpretation of their Nordic landscape, and proudly only use Finnish Rye.
Post distillery tour (and yes, there's a sauna on site if you're staying), we tasted our way through 13 different single casks - and this 100% malted rye cask was our favourite. It's fruity, honeyed, and perfect for fans of Rye and Irish Whiskey.

#13 STORK CLUB
We’ve been talking with Bastian at Stork Club - Germany’s first Rye Whiskey Distillery - for years (literally), exploring casks. Then one day, he sent us this cask.
A malted rye whiskey, matured in a Napoleon Oak Cask - something we’d never come across, and that got us excited! Rich, decadent, and so chocolatey, this whiskey is unlike anything we’ve tasted in all our years.
It’s Black Forest Gateau in a glass, and we love it.
#16 Fielden
This is a 100% rye whisky finished for just over 2 years in a 45-year-old ex-Solera Oloroso Sherry cask from a bodega in Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
This is coastal sherry territory, where the Atlantic winds give the wine a signature minerality. That maritime character has transferred beautifully into the whisky, melding with the Oloroso toffee/nuttiness to create an insane amount of complexity and richness.
